Parade of Sails

Event week culminates in a spectacular Parade of Sails.

The ships will begin to detach from the Aura River at 12:00 PM.

From the Aura River, the ships will head towards Airisto and continue their journey through the Turku Archipelago towards the next host port of the event, Mariehamn. It takes about an hour for the ships to sail from the Aura River to Airisto.

The large ships will hoist their sails for the Parade of Sails, weather permitting.

Tips for event visitors

• The best places to watch the Parade of Sails are from the event area, the Port of Turku, or the cliffs of Ruissalo.
  
• The public is encouraged to come to Ruissalo by Föli buses. Föli bus line 8 will operate extra services on Sunday via Kuuvannokka in Ruissalo. Information on the additional services will be updated on this page and on the event’s Information page on the website once the schedules are confirmed.
  
• Driving in Ruissalo will be restricted if the parking areas fill up. Restrictions will be in place on Hevoskarintie, Isopukintie, Kansanpuistontie, Kuuvantie, and Pikkupukintie roads.
  
• Supervised parking areas are located on Hevoskarintie and Kansanpuisto areas. If these parking areas are full, no more cars will be allowed on the road or into the area. This is to prevent cars from blocking the roads and hindering public transportation.
  
• After arriving at Airisto, the ships will continue sailing along routes determined by their captains. The ships may stop at the ports of Nauvo, Houtskär, Lappo, and Föglö.
  

Please note

Since Föli bus line 8 will operate via Kuuvantie on Sunday, a transfer notice sign will be placed on the road. Cars illegally parked along the road will be removed immediately by the event organizers.
