Ecumenical music devotional, Turku Cathedral

An ecumenical music devotional in the spirit of The Tall Ships Races will be held at Turku Cathedral on Thursday, 18 July at 6:00 PM. The devotional, conducted in Finnish and English, will be led by Bishop Emeritus Kaarlo Kalliala. Also participating are Mikko Ylinen, Father of the Orthodox Church, and Brother Gabriel Salmela Brother of the Catholic Church, who will lead prayers together with Turku Cathedral Parish Pastor Tuomas Vaura. Organist Toni Heino will play the organ. The program includes organ pieces by Max Reger and Oskar Merikanto’s “Prayer” (Ave Maria). Mezzo-soprano Sofia Immonen will sing.
