The Tall Ships Races Turku 2024 event attracted hundreds of thousands of visitors during the past week. On Saturday 20 July, an all-time daily attendance record of the events in Turku was set, when up to 150 000 event goers visited the area. Despite the large crowds, issues with traffic and public order remained close to zero.

Over 60 Ships Have Registered to Arrive in Turku

So far over 60 impressive ships from a total of 16 countries have registered to arrive in Turku, and Aura River has been dredged to safely welcome ships with a deeper draught. Alongside participants from Europe, ships as far as from Brazil and Ecuador will be seen in Aura River in July. Ships have until May to register for the event.
